Why is it that the media spend the initial hours after a catastrophe writing the story and the ensuing week getting it right? I understand that information is fluid, but doesn't rushing to judgments breed myth and misinformation?

The Big-Ten network wants to hit the big-time right away. They desire a slot on Mediacom, the local cable TV monolith, basic cable. Predictably, Mediacom does not care to flirt with the added risks of placing a completely unproven network in its core lineup.
This photograph seems to convey all that's wrong with the sport of cycling these days. I almost wrote "all that's wrong with the Tour de' France," but it's not just the Tour, it's the sport as a whole.
